Last weekend, during the Haugesund Film Festival, the Amanda Awards were presented. Hør Her'a, the film based on Gulraiz Sharif's novel by the same title, won the prize for Best Children's Film.

The movie premiered in September 2023, and was an instant favourite amongst both critics and the audience. It is produced by Ingvild Sæther Berger and Yngve Sæther from Motlys production company, and directed by Kaveh Tehrani. The Amanda Awards are Norway's most prestigious film awards.

Actress Kriti Surjan Thepade won the Amanda for Best Newcomer for her role in the film, as Mahmoud's mother. The film was also nominated in the categories Best Production/Cinematography and Best Editing.

Best original music

The award for Best Original Music went to Bukkene Bruse på Badeland, an animated movie based on the bestselling Billy Goats Gruff series by Bjørn F. Rørvik and Gry Moursund. The music is by Stein Johan Grieg Halvorsen and Eyvind Andreas Skeie, and the original song and #1 hit «Badebussen» is written by Kjartan Lauritzen and Anders Nilsen.
