Several centuries ago, the world as we know it was destroyed by wars, corrosive rain and a deadly plague. Aivar (13) from The Badger Tribe is forced to flee when the travelling city of Berlin comes too close to their winter settlement. He and Uri, his best friend’s little sister, are the only survivors of an attack by the Bears several days later.

Vira (13) loves climbing. She grows up on the first storey of Berlin among the people who keep the whole city running. Up top live the important folk, the ones with responsibility. When Vira is caught climbing too high – all the way up to the sixth storey – she is forced to start spying and informing on her own people. Because there are a lot people in Berlin who want to harm the city.

We follow Aivar and Vira for a few years until they eventually meet during a long-planned attack on the travelling city of Berlin. But neither of them knows exactly what they’ve got themselves involved in.
