Luca Dalen Epseth is a 35-year-old trans man. He’s been an avid participant in the public discourse around the word trans. This means he has had to, both publicly and privately, answer countless questions about gender, being trans and his own life. Everywhere he's asked the same questions over and over again. It feels like he always has to explain and defend himself to be allowed to exist. Despite having studied biology, gender theory and philosophy, his answers are never «good enough».
Everyone demanded that Luca told a story about himself that they could believe in. A story that fit their understanding of gender. So, he created a story for each aspect of his life. He suddenly realised he had forgotten to create a story for himself. “Tell me the story of your life,” his doctor said and looked him in the eye. This is Luca’s story.
«The book is a hard-hitting, well-articulated and solid argument for gender being a social construct. [...] it will be difficult to find a better reckoning with the misconception that someone is born in the wrong body than this.»

«...a fascinating mixture of factual information, a passionate ideological manifesto, and a personal portrait, where Espseth speaks from his 15 years of experience as a trans activist, lecturer, and trans man.»
